Information about the bloggers

Ian Martinez - TIA Communications Manager
Before coming on board with TIA this May, Ian was a reporter with Communications Daily and its sister publication Washington Internet Daily for 3 years. He covered business, standards and policy aspects of the telecom and IT industries, from technical issues like the P25 public safety standard to philosophical debates like Net Neutrality. He may have only been 16 when the ‘96 Telecom Act passed, but he’s learned enough about it in the past 3 years to make a Hill staffer’s head spin.

Before Comm Daily, Ian was a Georgetown University Writing Center Fellow, earning an MA there in 2004.

Grant Seiffert - TIA President
Grant, on the other hand, played a major role in TIA’s efforts to secure a competitive market free of onerous legislation during that 1996 Act. He currently leads the association’s work in leveraging its global resources to develop business opportunities, market intelligence and fair regulatory environments for its members.

Before TIA, Grant was a legislative staffer for Senator John McCain.

Geoff Livingston - Guest Blogger
A former telecom reporter, Geoff’s the CEO of Livingston Communications. His book, Now Is Gone, which focuses on social media will be released in October. Called a local blogging “guru” by The Washington Post, Geoff ’s The Buzz Bin blog is a nationally recognized blog.
